Prof. Wang Songyou

Biography

Prof. Songyou Wang received his MS and BS degrees from Physics Department of Zhengzhou University in 1987 and 1993, and Ph. degree from Physics Department of Fudan University in 2000. From 1987 to 1997, he worked at North China University of water Resources and Electric Power. He joined Fudan University as a faculty member and was a professor (2007) in Department of Optical Science and Engineering. He once worked at Ames Laboratory of U. S. Department of Energy and Department of Physics & Astronomy of Iowa State University from 2003 to 2004 as a visiting Scientist. He has published more than 90 journal papers on optical, magneto-optical and local structure and dynamic properties of crystalline and non-crystalline materials.

(1) Theoretical and experimental study of the structural, optical and magnetic properties of optical materials;
(2)Theoretical study of local structure and dynamic properties of amorphous materials;
(3)Computational design of new materials
