Prof. LIU Liying


Prof. Liying Liu received her BS, MS and PhD degrees in Physics Department of Fudan University in 1986, 1989 and 1992, respectively. From 1992-2000, she worked at Physics Department of Fudan University. Since 2000, she has been a professor in Department of Optical Science and Engineering, School of Information Science and Engineering. During the time period, she once worked at Aalborg University in Denmark from 1996- 1997 for joint research on optical nonlinearity of surface and interface. In 1999 and 2005, she worked at Coe College in USA for joint research on second order nonlinearity and photosensitivity of glass materials. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers on optical waveguides, optical nonlinearity and organic thin films.

 Research Fields
(1)    Optical glass based optical waveguide: material, physics and devices; Second order optical nonlinearity of organic materials;
(2)    Optical microcavities.
