SIST Held the 6th Fudan University-Hanyang University Joint Workshop

The 6th Fudan University-Hanyang University Joint Workshop was held on June 28, 2019, at Genetics Building, Fudan University, with more than 50 participants including teachers and students from the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST), Fudan University and Hanyang University, Korea.

The workshop started at 9:00 in the morning. Professor Ran Liu, Vice Dean of SIST, and Professor Wanjun Park, Director of BK21 Program at Hanyang University, delivered a welcome speech. Professor Ran Liu extended a warm welcome to the Korean scholars, he fully affirmed the achievements of past five years and expressed his deep expectations that scholars from the two countries would take this opportunity to have deep research discussions. Professor Wanjun Park expressed the hope that all the scholars would learn from each other and jointly promote progress in the academic areas.

The conference was divided into three sessions, Professor Ran Liu, Professor Jinsub Park, Professor Yifang Chen chaired three sessions respectively. There were 25 academic reports in total from students and scholars that included two invited talks delivered by Professor Jinsub Park from Hanyang University and Professor Chunxiao Cong from Fudan University respectively. Professor Jinsub Park introduced the strategy of using nanomaterial to improve LED light extraction. Professor Chunxiao Cong presented the light properties of two-dimensional layered materials.

The 6th Fudan University-Hanyang University Joint Workshop concluded successfully at 17:30. At the end, the speakers took a group photo with a bright hope to meet again next year in Seoul.

Initiated in 2013, the Joint Workshop is held once a year, and is hosted in China and Korea in turn. It has provided good opportunities of scientific cooperation between Fudan University and Hanyang University, and also witnessed the development of friendship between the two universities.
