In the afternoon of October 17th, the Forum on Future Information Science, Technology and Education was held in Guanghua Towers. As an important part of the series of SIST 10th anniversary celebration events, the forum had invited world-famous experts and Deans in the Engineering and ICT fields to participate in this big event. The forum consisted of two parts, Theme Speech on The future of Information Sciences, Technology and Education and Panel Discussion on How to Build a World-Class School of Information and Communication Science and Technology.

In the Theme Speech part, Professor Khaled Ben Letaief, the Dean of Engineering of HKUST, introduced the Future education in Technology and Engineering.

Professor Tor Sverre Lande, a member of Norwegian Academy of Science, introduced Technology trends and design challenges in Information and Communication Technology.

|
Prof. Hannu Tenhunen, a member of Academy of Engineering Sciences of Finland, introduced Technical leadership and innovation in a global perspective.

In the second part, Professor Li-Rong Zheng, the Dean of SIST, and Professor Thomas Gessner, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Republic of Germany, gave short speeches which started the Panel Discussion.

The experts and Deans of Engineering and ICT Schools freely discussed about How to Build a World-Class School of Information and Communication Science and Technology,meanwhile made good interaction with the audience.
