A 25-student delegation from Norwegian University of Science and Technology(NTNU), led by Prof. Nils Holte and Harald Overby, visited the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST), Fudan University on March 30.

The welcoming speech and a brief introduction of SIST were delivered by Prof. Yi-Wei Shi, the Dean of Graduate Education of SIST, in Room 138 of the Physics Building. Prof. Nan Chi, the Head of Communication Engineering Department, introduced the Department, as well as the latest advances in Optical Communications. Prof. Nils Holte from NTNU also gave a short presentation entitled "The Communication Technology Program at NTNU" and highlighted their ongoing student satellite project, where the students at NTNU will design and build a small satellite that will be put into orbit. The delegation visited Optical Communication Laboratory and the Optical Fiber Laboratory afterwards.

More interactive activities were going on in the afternoon. Accompanied by Chinese staff and students, Norwegian professors and students visited Fudan History Museum. When back to the Physics Building, students played interesting games, which deepened the friendship between each other.

The one day Fudan trip ended with taking group photos and exchanging contact information. Saying goodbye was always hard, Fudan students waved until the bus of Norwegian students went far.
