In order to promote academic cooperation with China and meet with important academic institutions, including researchers and scholars engaged in international cooperation, the Board of Directors of the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT ) visited Fudan University from November 27 to 30.

The 10-member delegation was led by Mr. Olle WÄSTBERG, the Chairman of STINT, who is also the former Director General of the Swedish Institute and former Consul General of Sweden in New York. The welcome meeting was placed in Room 206 at the East Wing of Guanghua Tower. Professor Yinzhang Chen, Special Advisor to the President of Fudan, hosted the meeting.

Professor Chen introduced Fudan's strategies and visions, especially internationalization in general and current cooperation between Fudan and Swedish universities in particular. Professor Lirong Zheng, Dean of School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) introduced innovation platforms in China and the Sino-Swedish Campus of Fudan. Opinions on opportunities in Sweden-Fudan cooperation were shared by the two sides.

On the afternoon of November 27, the STINT delegation traveled to Fudan's Jiangwan Campus and afterwards visited the State Key Laboratory of ASIC & System located in Zhangjiang Campus. In the following days, the delegation had meetings with the Nordic Centre and other academic organizations of Fudan, and finished their four-day Fudan visit on November 30.

 
STINT, the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education, was set up in 1994 by an act of the Swedish Parliament. Its mission is to promote internationalization of Swedish higher education and research.

The Foundation offers a range of funding and scholarship programs in support of strategic internationalization at higher education institutions. It is also an actor with competence and knowledge relating to international academic collaboration.
