Abstract
Lighting is going through a radical transformation, driven by both society needs and rapid progress of SSL. Starting from the technology & business development trends, this presentation will summarize the major challenges associated with these trends, and highlight the new technology landscape of lighting: seamless integration and co-development of “More Illumination” (focusing on efficiency, cost, retrofit, miniaturization and revolution in form and fixture) with “More than Illumination” (focusing on new functionalities and applications, intelligence and interaction), in order to create high value lighting systems and solutions for broad applications. The impact of this new lighting technology landscape on future technology development will also be discussed.
