Biography 

 

Xu Wang received B.S. degree in Physics from the Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1989; M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Electronics Science & Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 1992; and Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), HK, 2001.

 

He is now a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K.

 

His research interests include fiber optic communication networks, optical code division multiplexing, optical packet switching, application of fiber gratings, microwave photonics and fiber optic signal processing. He has published over 190 technical papers.

 

He was awarded the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship by RGC of Hong Kong in 2001, and the Telecommunications Advancement Research Fellowship by the TAO of Japan in 2002 and 2003.
