The MST Program
Department of Engineering Sciences
Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden
A survey of recent research in microsystems technology (MST) at Uppsala University will focus on novel micro and nanoengineering technologies for various applications particularly in aero space, life science and electronics. Some examples: Autonomous Microrobots, Satellite Microthrusters, Single Molecule Detection, Cell Sorting, and World-Record Strong Micromechanic Pumps…
The MST program of Uppsala University has been active since 25 years and has always been the largest academic center of MST in Sweden. In the last decade, every year around 40 researchers are in the MST field. From its origin in materials science the program has developed to a world leading institution on microactuators for life science and aerospace applications. With a strong environment in life science and wireless communication technology as well as the largest cleanroom facility in Sweden for MST, the MST Program at Uppsala University has an excellent opportunity to provide research and education as well as to assist in sustainable growth of society.
