BIO: Dr. Ying Cao received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from KU Leuven in 2013 and his M.S. in Microelectronics Engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2007. He has over 15 years of professional experience in analog/mixed-signal and radiation hardened IC design, technical leadership, and project management. He co-founded Magics Technologies NV in 2015, where he serves as Chief Technology Officer. Under his leadership, the company successfully launched multiple product lines, focusing on radiation-hardened ICs for nuclear and space applications, including sensor front-end chips, resolver-to-digital converters, frequency synthesizers, time-to digital converters, bus communication chips, image sensors, and AI accelerators. During his PhD at KU Leuven, Dr. Cao played an important role in developing radiation-hardened chips using commercial CMOS technologies. His work included designing picosecond-resolution time-to-digital converters, low-jitter oscillators, and radiation-tolerant bandgap references. His research into radiation-hardened ICs resulted in multiple high-impact publications and significantly advanced the field. So far, he has authored and co-authored over 40 papers in international journals and conferences. His contributions have been featured at top venues such as the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) and in leading journals, including IEEE JSSC and IEEE TNS.
